Moving over to the RAVS core team

Last weekend was busy with birthday parties, so here's a double weeknote covering 2 weeks.

Getting ready for autumn/winter

In general, the focus of the wider team has been getting ready for the autumn/winter vaccination season to kick off in October.

There have been multiple releases focusing on technical improvements, especially important as we're expecting more users this year.

Showing appointments design history

Our content designer shared a design history post about how we're planning to show vaccination appointments in our service.

This is hopefully going to be built and released once the autumn/winter kick-off period passes.

Invites and reminders

My last bit of support (for now, I hope) with the RAVS plus team was observing user research with maternity users on our proposed invites and reminders designs.

It was also nice to see some users get a first taste of RAVS plus in general. I think there are some real benefits to be realised here.

Helping clinics to run more smoothly

This past week I've been focusing more on RAVS core work. The interaction designer on RAVS core has gone on extended leave so I've been asked to move over to that team 100%.

It's been exciting so far, with a mixture of small and bigger initiatives, including;

  • helping to get our vaccine management designs ready for the dev team
  • reviewing our product page and planning some small changes and improvements
  • exploring how we might help users in mass vaccination settings (e.g. back to back appointments or busy care home visits) to prepare some of their admin tasks in advance, do things in bulk, and avoid repetition

We're hoping to take this prototype out for some face-to-face user research in a couple of weeks.
